Physicaly: I've had diverticulitis twice and the second time I was crying from the pain, I thougth I'd die. I had surgery that morning. My colon had a puncture from the inside.
Emotional: The early days of being disciplined by my parents. Felt like betrayal at the time. First times are either the best or the worst.

As far as emotional pain goes, I think it's an extremely unfair question to ask considering everyone's level of grief varies. How inhumane of me to assume that because Bob lost his wife to cancer, that it means he's in more emotional turmoil than Dan who just lost his only son in a car accident. It's just wrong to even attempt to judge one's emotional grief over another.

In relation to physical pain, my lung had been collapsed for nearly 3 years and American doctors kept telling me I was fine and to go home. Then my husband got a job in the Netherlands and we moved to Holland last year. While here, I had the same problems again and again and finally sought a doctor. I was blessed that the Dutch doctors had no problem at all immediately realizing the problem and after finding out it had been going on for 3 years solid, I had to undergo lung surgery for Pneumothorax. To this day it angers me that it took 3 years and going over seas to be able to get proper medical treatment!

Being that I'm only 22, I never thought I'd have to have of all things, lung surgery at my age. Waking up in intensive care was horrible and the pain was a pain I never ever want to feel again. The fact that I had 3 tubes coming out of my lung didn't help matters any. A week later they removed the tubes and I went home. It's been 7 months and I'm alive and well but still in pain from the recovery. I'm able to walk on my own now and function in life just fine, but the first couple of months was indeed pure hell.

My husband had to do everything from housework, cooking, taking care of our daughter, helping me in the shower, helping me get dressed, etc. Looking back, I'm sure he'd tell you it hurt him worse than it did me!

I broke my collarbone once. Emotionally, I suffered for years under my mother's tyranny, and because of her I tried to take my own life in 2004. I'm an insulin dependent diabetic and I stopped taking my insulin.
