This may seem silly, but I was wondering??? I have heard alot of people talk about introducing your baby to music and stories before they are even born. I have had friends who taped themselves telling stories, have gotten books downloaded and have recored music of differnet kinds and then had headphones so their baby can listen to them while still in their tummies. Has anyone done this? Can they really hear it? Do you think it is good idea? Anyone know any places on internet that have studies that discuss this topic?

I've heard of it, but through all the layers of fluid/skin/muscle its probably very muffled and somewhat indistinguishable... they can probably pick up your voice/vibrations because they hear it all the time, but aside from that, I think it might make the baby uncomfortable and more active.

Seeing that you are in a pregnancy forum it looks like you will need a headphone extender(or subs)

Well, they certainly CAN hear it, but don't you think the sound would hurt those teeny tiny ears? I would think so. That's alot of odd noise for tiny little earbuds.
