The US may have its way when it comes to engaging "Petroleum Rich" countries esp:Middle East...They shook hands with Mr.Sadam when he danced to their tunes...and broke his neck when he did not...If Nuke technology is the issue let them start off with North Korea and Pakistan and then move on to Iran. The US mainland by virtue of its Geographical isolation from the Global hotspots has not seen war on its soil.
War is a misery for the whole human race.
Would they do the same today in Iraq, if Iraq was say in the place of Cuba or somewhere proximal to US.
And Iran my friend is not Iraq. There were people who wanted "democracy and changes" in Iran a couple of years back .But the way the US has introduced "democracy and changes" in neighbouring Iraq has turned those dreams to nightmares.Iran is a "seasoned civilization"...it has seen terror and war ruin its basic existance...be it during the times of Alexander,Chengis, the wars waged during the onslaught of Islam...and the list is endless...but it has lived up to all the challenges.
Irans rulers unilike the case of Iraq have strong backing from the most credible army of "religious" followers.Unlike Iraq, secterian differences are less and the nation is more united. And as any civilization, their pride would not allow accepting the orders of outside. The change in Iran can only be from inside. No external force can impose it on the people.
It would be a grave mistake to wage a war of this sort. The best option the US has is to "talk strongly "to "the point" to the Iranians .
Permanent Solution lies in Peace not War.

Rich A, a man's deeds is not judged from his words or thoughts, but from his actions. Iran never invaded any country.
And is still years away from having a nuke. The US has thousands of nuclear warheads, and what can Iran do with just one? Iran's leaders are radical but definately not stupid.
If a war against Iran happens, don't expect the US forces in Iraq and Afganistan to have an easy time, especially Iraq.
Wars don't bring peace, only justice can.

Iran's only real threat is from the words of their Islamic fundamentalist President Ahmadinejad who said that Israel "should be wiped off the map". Try it, he will regret it. Do it, he won't because he's unlike his own people. Iranians do not want a war, they don't seek a war. They lost close to a million people less than 20 years ago. They sent waves of teenage boys into mindfields in Iraq to clear the way for hardened Iranian troops and machinery. They mobilized millions to fight against Iraq, but Khomeini admitted his forces were beaten and his economy, even with oil, was in shambles. They don't want a WAR! The US will not invade Iran so long as Ahmadinejad does not launch a regional war or invades Israel.

Well, Bush may have had one to take over the oil, but he really is no longer in power as he is a lame duck who's funds can be cut at any time!

What? You honestly think that after this mess in Iraq we'd go delving into more wars? Do you realize how long the US is going to be in Iraq trying to fix this huge mistake? Our military is stretched too thin to just f*** around all over the place in the Middle East.

Even when Iran abandons its nuclear programs, US will attack it due to its oil.
