I kinda like Shaun of the dead.

Something about the idea of what would two slackers so if the world was attacked by zombies I found extremely entertaining.

then again I am particular to British comedy.

Well, Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness are hilarious. There are moments of gore but it's got a lot of comic relief. Evil Dead part one is a bit more serious.

Shaun of the Dead deals with a whole lot of death, obviously since zombies are the main villians.

But if I had to recommend an insanely gory movie, it would have to be Story of Ricky. Story of Ricky is a chinese movie with english dubs. It was shot around the early 90's and falls into the B movie category of "so bad it's goo". The movie is meant to be serious... sorta. The fight scenes are bloody. More bloody that I've seen in Freddy Krueger flicks... heck, even more that the Saw trilogy. You can buy this movie on Amazon and Netflix has it as well. Trust me, if you have that kind of humor, this movie is the winner.

If you want examples, just type Story of Ricky on YouTube and see what others have uploaded. Trust me, it's brutal yet funny due to it's absurdity.

Its definitely "Braindead" or also known as "Dead Alive", the goriest zombie comedy i've ever watched - totally gross out scenes involving mass mutilation, zombie feasting and more.Watch out for the ending especially!

Might be difficult to get a copy though, since it's a New Zealand production. It's directed by the same Peter Jackson who made the Lord of the Rings movies, though you would never have guessed it - totally different style, genre and budget.

"Dead/Alive" by Peter Jackson. You should also check out his similarly themed "Bad Taste"! Peter Jackson's early splatter/gore movies are great!
