if you had asked me this three years ago i would have said that I trust my friends with my life and that they are the only people who can never let me down.....but experience has taught me that the people you trust and depend on the most are the people that are most likely to let you down mainly because you don't see it coming while with an enemy you basically know where you stand

My take on it is that accept that your friends are human too and are capable of anything

Well if your friends stab you in the back then you can't really believe that they were ever your friend now can you? If you agree with that line of logic then I would have to say that no I don't think your statement is true . Fact is the enemy can strike from any direction and if you are lucky it will be from the front so you know its coming and maybe have a chance at dodging it.

Hmmm.....I believe that BOTH, enemies and friends, can stab you in the back; the only difference is that, while an enemy can stand in front of you or stab you in the back, a friend (meant as someone you erroneously trusted to be your friend), would just stab you in the back, not having the nerve to stand in front of you;)

I remember i was told by a very wise woman that " Familiarity Breeds Contempt " .

During Life's course we meet a lot of people, some of whom we assume are friends and some we assume are our enemies.

In the case of friends we open ourselves fully to them thus being prone to getting hurt and betrayed.

In the case of enemies he / she says and does things at face value , the hurt is lesser and less harmful.

I would conclude by saying that never ever open up fully to anyone for one day friends might turn into foes and to the entire world your weaknesses will be shared.

Just some advise from an Acquaintance ,

Regards,

Have a happier day.

No, we have many enemies who hide behind man dresses in crowds of civilians. Most people that want to stab you prefer to do it in the back because it increases their odds of surviving the attack.

Never, someone stabbing you in your back is obviously not your friend!
