My monitor sometimes goes all stripy and the picture disappears. I squeeze the upper left hand side and the picture comes back as long as I am holding it, then I shake it and hit it and shout at it and squeeze again and then if I'm lucky the picture stays when I stop squeezing it.
What is going on?

You probably have a dry joint (bad solder joint) in the moniter .Dont even think about repairing it .get a new one.

it could be a loose connection somewhere?
try tapping it or squeezing it somewhere else
apart from upper left
if it works then maybe its some loose connection inside the monitor in general
if not then it is probably a circuit board problem inside
u will have to decide on fixing it or throwing it

Basically you have a duff joint in there somewhere, it won't be repairable, not easily anyway. Time for a new monitor, I'm afraid.
