Essentially, you are asking why some people are "better" than others. Genetically, everyone is different and thus it is by chance and/or what your parents gave you. Inspirationally, everyone has their own talents. Perceptionist: Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Religiously: God or Allah or Zeus or whoever you worship has a plan for you OR it is his will/destiny. Evolutionary: strongest and best traits survive, but you still have the not so great ones reproducing for a time.
Overall, different characteristics and talents are what makes each one of us unique in some way. Plus, its more fun and contributes more to society as a whole when people are different.

Think, God made everyone equal. Everyone is beautiful in their own way, looks aren't everything. Also keep in mind that everyone is made different. talents range from singing to being a good friend. Life is what you make of it. If you consider yourself to be average that's all your ever going to get, but if you try to excel an become superior, you may miss (and be above average) or you may become it. It depends how you view your life.
e.i. Someone may be beautiful and sing like a star and have bad health, but you may also be average/good looking a bad singer but be as healthy as can be...

The world runs on the difference. Hence it is needed.
Because there is difference in level the rivers flow from higher to lower.
Different People work different jobs because there is difference in economic levels.
Because there is difference in charge the electricity flows and hence all the gadgets like lights, AC, Motors, Vehicles work.
Hence the difference is a necessity.

A very good question !
In Buddhist teaching it is said that because of our past Karma (result of good & bad things in our previuors life). This answer is very short but if you need a wide answer you need to study budhism. It will also tels you how to acheive the best of you, how to overcome all the issues & how to stay away from re-birth by acheiving Nirvana.

Because they choose to be happy, I live in a village (Ewu), people as poor more that that of a city dog (Lagos), are the most content, and due to their culture are always happy...because they choose to be, when you feel content and happy, you have the greatest share/wealth in life ...pricelessssss
