Democracy is kinda like an alternative method to exert social pressure on someone:

"we took a vote and the majority agreed to do this, so it doesn't matter what you think because your vote doesn't change anything"

or

"we all agreed to do this, either you are with us (and a supporter of democracy) or you are some opposition scum to be treated with suspicion thereafter.

notice how open it is to power abuse, stupidity, herd mentality and steamrolls all other points of view

The Democrats now have to put up or shut up.... They have to walk the walk because talking ain't going to cut it. They are off to a bad start with this SYMBOLIC vote to prevent the troop increase. The people who put them there wanted more than symbolism. Wake up people this is what they have been doing since the 90's. They don't do anything and wait for Republicans to screw up so they can say "Well at least I'm not as bad as that guy." How about John Fing Kerry..."I actually voted for the war before I voted against it." Flip Flop till you drop. Hillary's coming.
I heard Bill opened an account at the local Dry Cleaners to get rid of any evidence.....

The U.S. democracy is overrun by idiots on both sides. Political parties are stupid. There's more than two sides to every issue. And everyone just aligns with the consensus. It's bull. And why ask a question like this? Are republicans the cream of the crop?

What--you don't think we're setting a truly stellar example, with senators filibustering to avoid a debate on a freakin' NON-BINDING resolution? You don't think our budget that gets us hundreds of billions of dollars deeper into debt and includes cuts to our own Medicaid and Medicare programs will win the admiration of the world? No wonder we can only force it on other countries by invading them.

I honestly *love* the USA and I *love* real democracy and I am a major fan of our founding fathers, most of whom are probably rolling in their graves. This is NOT our proudest hour. Or year. Or administration.

Democracy is still the best political system in the world. There is freedom and you can say what you want.

The democracy is just another thing that is used to control the public -It exactly how it looks like but it's nothing like most people believe.

Look at your question...and yet you use the word "brain dead" (2 words)
what exactly is your point?..to put down someone who does not share your political view?
You did not ask a legitimate question, you simply let your own narrow (childlike ) set of views be known.

Who would want to be a democrat? To begin with, anyone who wants to triumph in 16:16.

My own question to you would be: Who on earth would want to be a Republican. God does not like hypocrites and will judge them according to their deeds. God NEVER spoke to the Republican George W Bush, as he claims.
