Goldfish are cold water and carp, and thus should not be combined with tropicals like angels. They need different water parameters and environment from each other.
As for putting goldf and angels together, I did in a 56 gallon tank, and the angels really beat up the gold's. The golds ate their eggs, too. So it was what you might call a lose-lose situation. Angels are cichlids, and though one of the more mild species, they are very territorial.
I would seriously advise against it.

Well, there are freshwater angelfish. I know which you are talking about. There are several varieties, but the answer remains the same. No. Goldfish should only ever be kept with other goldfish and even the two kinds of goldfish, slim-bodied and fancy, shouldn't be kept together. Goldfish are coldwater fish. They do best in water with temperatures around 70 degrees. Angelfish need water with temperatures of around 75-82 degrees. Goldfish also are high waste producers, which means that they create a water environment that would be difficult for angelfish to live in. Angelfish are also relatively aggressive and would very likely pick on the goldfish. Also, the angelfish probably wouldn't let the goldfish get any food. So, no. Don't keep goldfish and angelfish together.

The short answer is that you can, but it might be a bad idea for several reasons.
Among them:
- Goldfish do better at slightly cooler temperatures (generally 65-70 degrees farenheit) while angelfish thrive between 78-95 degrees.
- Angelfish tend to be aggressive toward other fish and so might harm the goldfish.
- Goldfish are notoriously messy fish; they produce a lot of waste as well as creating ammonia, both of which can increase the vulnerability to disease in your angelfish.
All that being said, it is quite possible both types of fish might survive together but it is very unlikely that either type of fish will truly thrive and live to the best of their capacity for health and happiness.

it is a big if -- the angelfish could do damage to your goldfish. if your goldfish is considered a "fancy" (fantails, moors, veitails, parascopes, bubble eyes, etc) he doesn't swim very well and can be ganged up on easily. angelfish aren't as innocent as you might think. If everyone has enough room it will probably work but just watch for signs the goldfish is being attacked -- nipped fins, things like that.

I highly wouldn't suggest doing that ! Goldfish are very dirty, I would keep them in separate aquariums. Goldfish are much more easy to care for. Angelfish need much more serious care, checking the ph of the water , the water temperature etc.
You can get another goldfish to keep your goldfish company in another aquarium, and I would rec. a 15 gallon minium tank for them.

Hi there, I have noticed you have nine answers already and I'm sure most of them have told you the same answer I'm about to give you.
* Gold fish are cold water fish and can live in colder water conditions
* Tropical fish is as their name suggest, live in warmer water, they will not survive in colder water.
* Tropical fish and gold fish require a different diet to one another and is important you feed them their apropriate food.
* Angel fish are a very aggressive fish and in no time will attack and kill the goldfish.
* It is not wise to put tropical and gold fish in together. I hope this will help, enjoy

angelfish aren't necessarily salt water fish, but they are warm water fish, while goldfish are cold water fish. They would die from heat.
