I easily write backwards with my left hand and have a few friends that do. How common is this trait overall? Any interesting studies done on it? I know mirror writing might be connected to seeing colors in music.

My ability to do this is partially nurture. My father has always written in my birthday cards in mirror writing.

I would say that everyone has the potential to do it (to varying degrees) but most have not thought to try!

i wrote like that the first time i started writing when i was a kid. my mom was so surprised when she saw the mirror image writing that she corrected it by having me used my right hand to write. but of course, i can still do it now.
