I just asked 3 questions and I got called names more often than receiving intelligent answers . Personally, I regard name-calling in answers, as juvenile people without the ability to formulate an intelligent response . But there's a bigger issue here . RESPECT . Respect for others, respect for self, respect for other human beings who have done no harm to you. Is that who some folks really want to be known for ?
Where has RESPECT gone.. .. and why are there so many who have none to give ?

INTELLIGENT ANSWER (hehe): Personally, I don't think you should base the issue of respect by a ask-and-answer website. Maybe people spend their time on here (I know I do) because they are bored and some like to rid bordom by being "funny" (cough rude) so don't take it personally. You should see some of the questions on this thing and the dumb jokes about their wives tied in chains...it's just stupid humor by bored people. It doesn't really have to do with respect. If someone argues that your view on an issue is "WRONG WRONG WRONG" now THAT regards disrespect. Just delete or report that bad answers and let it go. It's really not such a big deal...
...what were these questions exactly? Are you sure they weren't offensive or even just "asking for it"? Because the odd of that happening three times on this sounds weird...I know that personally I recieve way more intelligent answers then insults.
One more thing, these people aren't going to be "known for" for what they answer on online questions. It doesn't define them...again, don't take it personally for you OR them.

There is less respect now more than ever because many parents don't raise their babies right. No only do these people constantly calling names fail to understand that it makes them look highly un-intelligent, but it sets a poor representation of the people they come from, IE elders in their family. Its the sad truth of how socially acceptable rude and disrespectful comments have become. Its a shame that people don't understand how much of what you say reflects on them as a person.

Wasn't the 60s and early 70s broadcast in history as the "peace movement"? Drugs, alcohol, the "me generation", bragging about rebellion ect...here we go again. Welcome to history repeating itself. As if living in rebellion is anything close to being peaceful. I think it's behavior that is being patted on the back by the same generation that lived it years ago. Perhaps no lessons were learned either that or greed is once again thriving. After all, addiction and moral decay builds special interest groups which we all end up paying for.

I totally agree with you. A person has a right to disagree with me, but let us do it in a mature way. All of this foul language has got to go. I thought the "Yahoo Gods" were watching this stuff.
Also, I get tired of all the silly questions. Come on people. Let us grow up and use this for what it was meant for.

Sad but true, so many idiots. I blame the media, movies, video games, TV and parents. Ever notice on some stupid shows, the kids will Cock of to their parents, and just get away with it. So the kids watching it think, okay that's the way it is.
Man when I was a kid, we got the belt or grounded. and I'm not a serial killer/phsyco they think you'll become if you spank your kid.

Actually, I assume that the matter concerns unpunishability. I mean that it causes anarchy and uncontrol. Yes, we do have a lack of respect, people are less concerned about the feelings of another person.

Respect doesn't exist on the internet. IT'S THE INTERNET, MAN. If you want respect, ask your dad your questions. People don't have to be afraid or feel embarassed by what they say on the internet. It's just text. Get over it. If you're looking for respect, look elsewhere.

Obviously you've touched a sore spot. When you touch the sore spot of the weak, they react disrespectfully to try to protect their weakness.
You have a right to ask your questions. Go ahead and ask. Don't let them bother you.

Oh my good ness!! I understand you completely!. It seems like they have nothing better to do. Sometimes I'm even afraid to post questions because of these people. I hate when I write a question and more than half are negative or rude comments. It angers me! And I always of course report them. But Why do they do this? What is the point? They are like online bullys. Immature.
