Just re-encode your MP3 files on your computer to a lower bitrate before transferring them to your w800i. Compression takes processing power. Your desktop/laptop is guaranteed to compress stuff faster than your phone. Plus, that's extra space on your phone you have to store songs and using such a program on the phone would likely kill your battery pretty quick, too. There are several programs that will do what you need on the PC. I use Audacity (free software) for most of my audio needs. You could probably find something smaller and similar more tailored for doing just this individual task rather than the swiss army knife of freeware audio programs. http://audacity.sourceforge.net
