Normally they just mention the richter scale of the source of the tsunami,like an earthquake under the ocean.Also, they will mention the wavelength and speed of the tsunami. However,i do beleive there is no current scale for measuring tsunamis

BIG WHAMMY~ tsunami is many big whammy all together got it, so when you see a big whammy coming you are correctly c'ing a scale of BIG WHAMMIES, and then when the tsunami comes don't be there
