Typical suggestions will be, take a long walk, have sex, eat a hot curry, drink raspberry leaf tea.
But generally that baby will come when s/he is ready!

Heh...I thnk I've tried every single one. I thought I would NEVER go into labor. I tried sex, spicy food, exercise, everything! But he came out when he felt like it, and no earlier. But watch out for excessive diarrhea (I know), it's your body's way of letting you know that it's clearing itself out for labor. I had crazy runs for two days straight, and on the third day my water broke at 4am.

My sister in law is a doula, and she says that if you take castor oil, it will induce labor, but she wouldn't let me take it. I guess it's for emergencies, so if your overdue, then I day go for it, but I gave birth at 37 weeks, so it's not recommended for pre term women. It will end, I promise.

Also, walking excessively, but that got me into trouble, I gave myself contractions at 29 weeks, so be careful.

hi
When my waters started to trickle 2 weeks early to my due date, the docs wanted to induce me. I said i will try and start my labour naturally.(same thing happened with my first labour)

I had a spicy curry, a whole fresh pineapple and a warm bath. Then i went straight to bed.(11pmish)
At 1.30am ihad a backache which straight away i knew it was starting, then i went back to sleep and at 3.30am was woken up by even stronger back ache, it started!!!!!!!!!!!
I had my son at 09.50am that morning!

This method was recommended by my midwife, and it worked with me

Good Luckx

DONT try castor oil. it goes into the baby and could open their bowls which results in an emergency Cesarean. it will come when its ready, if you are over your due date ask your midwife about medical induction.

Go for a walk, eat spicy food, or have sex (with the father of your baby, who I hope is your husband).
