Yes, I'm kidding. What I want to know is this: who in the gay community gets to *decide* who is part of their community?
Some gays believe bisexuals have no place in the gay community. So believe that asexual androgynous gay-curious men have no place in the gay community.
Some believe that really effeminate gay men are damaging gay liberations fight for 'acceptance'...

Its sad and pathetic, but true!! Gays want to be 'accepted' by everyone, yet, gays themselves are very elitest and have their own versions of prejudice against almost everyone, especially anyone straight, let alone anyone bi, trans, or even curio!!!

Why are the gay community so scared and threatened by everyone else?? Why the chip on the shoulder??? Or is it just a few 'bad eggs' that give the whole gay community a bad name???

I am gay but I would like to respond to this question. I think it is ridiculous that in this day and age that their is even such a thing as "the gay community". That's the problem with all people, we should be one community. Weather, you are gay, straight, bi, trans-gender, or whatever...why does that have to separate us as one? To make matters worse is that some people gay or straight think they have the right to make others feel that they do not belong.... and then get mad when the outcast finger is pointed at them. I realize that everyone is different and I still love everyone the same. One Love

Love this question because there is so much truth in it. I belong to one of the fringe of gaydom, the leather community. The Gay 'community' in general does seem a bit snobbish, as you say Bi's need not apply. That of course is crap. In the leather or drag circles, Bi's and Pan-sexual people are welcomed without discordant attitude. As for the "Abicrombie" crowd, well they seem to be less inviting. Even I am guilty to a degree having just declared my distaste for the A crowd. Human nature I guess.

If this is the case, then isnt the gay community being racist (i dont know the word) towards others they dont consider to be 'same sex gay only'.

I find this fact quite interesting, as the gay community are wanting to be exepted into 'normal' society, when they are shunning their own kind.

Doesnt this seem a bit like double standards?

btw i have no idea if this is true or not, im just going off your information.

You decided who is a part of the straight community? Only wierd people like Hitler try to do that. Basicly, no one decides.

And in answer to your membership card question:

Yes you do have to recive a membership card but the Gay Comitee of the Universe only allows the most intelligent and attractive people to join, to preserve our purer DNA. No wonder humanity is de-evolving!

No, but you'd better be a Liberal Democrat or you will be marginalized! Gays are just as discriminatyory in their behavior as any other group.

Nobody gets to decide. If they did, why would they have let in Harvey Fierstein?
