Yes, i think research programs are needed. This is because I think they'll make much more progress, and will enhance our knowlege of outerspace.

Here's some things the Pioneers have done:

> Pioneer 10 >> Pioneer 10 obtained the first close-up images of the planet, charted Jupiter's intense radiation belts, located the planet's magnetic field, and discovered that Jupiter is predominantly a liquid planet.

It also researched about the solar wind 'particles from the sun', and cosmic rays entering out part of the milky way. It has done much.

It has helped us understand through investigations of outer space, especially in its investigations and mission near Jupiter's atmosphere. "During the passage by Jupiter, Pioneer 10 obtained the first close-up images of the planet, charted Jupiter's intense radiation belts, located the planet's magnetic field, and discovered that Jupiter is predominantly a liquid planet."

> Pioneer 11 >> "During its flyby of Jupiter on 2 December 1974, Pioneer 11 obtained dramatic images of the Great Red Spot, made the first observation of the immense polar regions, and determined the mass of Jupiter's moon, Callisto."

Due to all these accomplishments, I believe that even more space vehicles can be sent for further discovery. Pioneer 10 has ended its mission in early 1997. Ever since then, it has been relaying weak signals, that if properly received, probably would've taught us a lot more =D.

Thank you (=>
