Webhosting is where on the internet your webpage is stored.

Registering a domain (can be but does not HAVE to be) done through your Webhosting provider. It's usually a year subscription to the WEBHOSTING

Most hosting services will let you upload your own website, except for the free ones they can get picky and want you to use their site builder.

Webhosting
-----------------
A disk space allocated in a webserver for you to place your web pages.

regsitering a domain name
---------------------------------
Domain name is an address you wish to name your web pages, people visit your web pages by entering the domain (i.e. www.yourwebsitedomain.com) in the browser window. First you must think of a suitable name for your web pages, say if you have created a collection of web pages describing pets, you may want to register a domain name that is related to the content of your web pages, perhaps (www.mypetstory.com). However, not all names are available as domain names are open to public for registration, and there might be someone already own the domain name you wish to have, and you will have to choose again for another suitable name.

Assuming you have already done up some web pages, here are some basic steps for getting a website online :-

1. register a suitable domain that can best describe your website. There are many domain registrars, you can do a search for 'domain registration' on google/yahoo and select one from the search result.

2. depending on what programming language you use to develop your website (in your case, it is likely just HTML. There are other popular programming languages like PHP, ASP etc. which you may need to check the selected web hosting provider to confirm if the hosting account has it supported), do a search on google/yahoo for 'web hosting' and select one web hosting provider, signup and wait for the login info in your email.

3. once you have receive the login info, read through it and follow the instruction given. You will need to goto the website you have register your domain name, login and change the nameserver record to point to the nameserver record stated in the login info email sent by your web hosting provider.

4. after successfully changing the nameserver record, wait for 48-72 hours for the new domain record to propagate to internet. This is to allow your internet connection provider to pickup the new update so that it knows you are now hosting your webpages in the web hosting provider you have just signup.

5. Read again your login info email, there is a section with instructions to upload your web pages to the hosting account. Also, read the web page maker documentation and apply the FTP username/password, IP address accordingly and upload the web pages to the appropriate folder in the web server.

6. after upload, test by entering your domain name in your browser window, if everything is entered correctly, you will be seeing your own web pages showing on the browser window.

Hope this helps and happy web building ! :)

You need a name e.g. www.yahoo.com for your website. In addition to that name, you need somebody to host your content.

You don't have to use any seperate stuff, just finish the designing work and web site layout and links, then you are ready to host it.

Try using Nvu, it's free and similar/better than Front Page. Need more help?just message me.

Also, I can get you the cheapest hosting ever, about $35/year for 1GBspace and 15GB bandwith. Try finding that deal anywhere.

Actually, you need both of them to have your website up-and-running.
The web hosting is an amount of space on a server you rent it from an ISP or a web hosting service to put your website files and pages on it, but for people to browse your site they enter the website domain in their browsers like www.yahoo.com, so you must have a domain like this to be able to browse the website as you use that domain to refer to your site on the server you rented.
As for making the web pages, I recommend using Adobe DreamWeaver (Formerly Macromedia DreamWeaver).
