Relax your shoulders and you have more control of the wheel. Don't try to pass them on a curve cause it's scary. Look at the car in front and see how much room there is left in their lane - plenty! And you have plenty too. Think of them as a sheltering buddy instead of a monster. Good luck!

It'll come with experience. Always remember the truck driver doesn't want to hit you any more than you want it.
However, good driving practice is not to drive alongside if at all possible, either hang back a bit or squirt past, the aim being to leave the space immediately beside the truck empty.
Hope this helps.

being a truckie there is nothing to fear if Iknow you are there if youare not sure that the truckie knows your therehang out abit I/E afoot or so outside the line of the semi or truck either inside or outside so he can see you in his mirrors then he wont move any lanes or anything until he can spy you the main thing that causes problems is the so called blind spot which occurs with some cars particuly little ones is when you get about level with his back wheels sometimes if he hasn,t seen you he will go to change lanes because he cant see you so as I said make sure he/s seen u before passing either side cos most truckies are proffesional drivers and will do the right thing

Best way is to buy a big truck and your sorted! You probably got your fear of them from watching too much tv/films. Bear in mind that stuff you see on tv is greatly exaggerated and generally doesnt happen much. Try and relax more when driving. Nothing worse on the roads than a nervous driver - they're alwyas panicing...

Well, try to be reassured that almost all lanes are designed to fit two diesel's side by side, with room to spare. Always remember to keep a "way out" on the fore-front of your mind in the case of emergency's. I think it is a fairly common fear for a lot of people especially new drivers. Remind yourself when you are driving next to a big rig...that there is plenty of room. You will eventually get over this!! Good Luck!!

Drive next to big trucks and you'll get used to it in time. Perhaps you can ask a friend who have a big truck to drive next to you until you get the hang of it.

wow.. it's okay to be afraid of big trucks. Although I think many truck drivers are very experienced, it is still quite dangerous to drive next to one... it really doesn't leave any space cushion (escape routes) for yourself. No matter how safe the truck driver is, they still have a blind spot. In conclusion (hehe) don't drive next to big trucks unless you have to.

I had a chum that had an massive concern of driving, so I quite have a touch "journey" to flow on! My suggestion is that you hit upon a chum/relatives member it really is amazingly affected man or woman and prepared to be with you at the same time as you force very short distances for some outings. commence extremely small on your first day vacation. start up in an empty parking lot. Have your chum force you out of your position to the parking lot. force slowly and then boost your velocity slightly. practice parking and backing up. practice pulling as a lot as a lessen. Then, make a journey round your block. purely once. attempt this daily. Then attempt taking a short force to an area one or 2 miles away. attempt listening to music (quietly) it really is calming at the same time as you force. attempt taking some deep breaths and visualizing achieveable-free, user-friendly, calm force. Take a second to desire a prayer of protection, protection, and quietness over your force. have self assurance that you're possibility-free once you force. do not rigidity your self to force lengthy distances (10 miles or better) purely yet. Take your time. once you're effectively going 2-3 miles comfortably attempt a street force. purely enter the expressway and go out on the first or 2d go out to commence. flow a touch added next time. once you may force a short distance on the expressway, take a force on your human being for a beneficiant distance (20 miles or so). Do the thoughts that help you stay calm and have self assurance you're able and possibility-free. solid success. do not enable this concern save you from existence. you're higher than this concern.

Just be careful ducking and diving around trucks in junctions and roundabouts. Sometimes they will have to take a different line from cars!
