Help with some party theme ideas?

It's my cousin's 20th birthday soon, so we're trying to put together a fun evening for our friends.

We're going out on the town for the evening, but it'd be great if we could have a theme. Nothing too involved, but something along the lines of "wear a {...} or you have to buy the birthday girl a drink".

She thought of having everyone wear one item of purple clothing, I said masks, or novelty hats. What other ideas along these lines can you come up with?

--Everyone wear a feather boa, even the guys, which should be hilarious, lol.

--What's her favorite actor or show--everyone could have as part of their clothing, accessories, or hair some item that references that actor or show.

--Travel-related: Is there some place she's always wanted to visit? Borneo, Tibet, Paris, India, Morocco....?

Same deal with clothing--saris for the women and lungis, dhotis, lengas, or kurtas for the men. Or, a French twist hair style for the gals and a pompadour for the guys.

With food--appropriate restaurant choice, or stay in and everyone prepare a recipe of that country's style.

Gee, can I crash this party? I'm having fun just thinking about it!

You could ask the birthday girl her favourite food & drink, and everyone has to represent in some way a part of that meal / drink.

Eg. say her favourite meal is pizza, a guy friend could draw on a moustache for the night!
or a girl friend could come with a pair of earrings that look like tomatoes or something along those lines!

I've always liked Casino themed parties, all fake money of course! but it was a real winner in my family, my little brother had won about 50,000 on poker by the end of the night! It was a real hoot! Everyone dressed formal -like james bond and stuff - and it was SO awesome!
