I'm a pre-op transsexual, but my license says female. I've been living as a female for almost 11 years. I went fulltime when i was 14 and when i was 16 went for my permit and they put female on it. I was born in indiana and they don't have sex on the birth certificate. So i've been with my boyfriend for 2 years. He wants to go to vegas and get married. Technically i could because all vegas needs is a valid ID . and mine says female. I love my boyfriend more than you could know and i want to marry him. but my question is should i risk it ? legally it is fraud .i might be fine. it's not like they are going to look under my dress. but fraud is a federal offence i could go to prison. But david's the one for me and i want to get married , what should i do ?

You will not legally be married if you represent yourself to be someone you are not so why bother with the formality?
Either you should wait until you have had the surgery or you should have a non-legal but just as important commitment ceremony that you can be yourself at.
Just my advice...

*Don't make a big deal out of it and you shouldn't have a problem.* This is one of those things that people don't really get caught for. I know mtfs, both pre- and post-op in Ohio that are married to other women and they haven't had any problems. The only case I've heard of where something did happen was somewhere in the bible belt a transwoman married a guy and because of her past, certain records made it look like it had actually been a gay marriage and fraud was involved. Once the police figured out that she was trans and that it was a heterosexual marriage, they let her go without any fines or jail time or revoking the marriage license. You should be ok.

Actually, its only Fraud if you INTEND to use the BENEFITS you gain from being married. Then again, WHAT DEFINES your sex? Do you think your a woman? You must to be going through the change, so technically you already ARE a woman. Just try working on getting declared a female by the government.

I am all for sticking it to the law when it comes to gender and going for it, but in this case, I think you should wait. If he really loves you, he will still be there for you during your transition and you can get married wherever you want instead at some sketchy drive thru in vegas when it is all official. Good luck, girlfriend!

im assuming he knows u r pre op.
um you could risk getting married, the chances of getting found out seems small, but if you did get found out its big trouble, so why dont you hurry on with the op which i think makes you legally female, then get married.

Find out what state will marry you and go to that state. If you got to wait then continue to plan and get ready by saving money or advancing your career. Just be thoughtful and patient and have a faith that it will work out fine for you. good luck

You were born female heart, mind and soul so why should an outtie instead of an inne rule your life? You are a woman and always have been, a woman with a birth defect. contact me if you like.
