You remember the part where Forrest speaks (accidently) at the Peace Rally thats being held in Washington DC and his microphones get messed up and no one can hear him? What do you think he said?

When Forrest gets up to talk at the Vietnam rally in Washington, the microphone plug is pulled and you cannot hear him. According to Tom Hanks, he says, "Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing. That's all I have to say about that."

Probably takeing about his time in war where he got shot in the buttocks and how he ate all the icecream he wanted. How lietant Dan was the best person he had met in the service. Like my momma used to say.... that's all I have to say about that.

Wow. I have often wondered that very thing!
I think he would have said something very simple but touching. Something like ;
In Vietnam I met a lot of very good men. We were very scared but we worked together. A lot of them died. But they were just trying to serve their country. One of them was Sergeant Dan (is that what he was called - I forget! Or was it Captain Dan? Mental block) He lost his legsfighting for his country. And that's all I have to say about that.

I think he was saying great things about his country and telling them about what a honor it is to be an American; and the irony of it was he was a soldier and this was a war protest. :}
