For those of you who took the last question serious thankyou, well done to those who answered, purpose, infinte, creation. Well done we have come so far in the last 1700 years and you are proof of this. To those who merely recited Douglas Adams have a good think about the concept of which he initiated you into!!

Douglas Adams gave me a good laugh and the concept was a good one. See the humor in life. Smile, because it could always be worse. Keep trying, it may just work out after all. Oh, sure, I didn't take the books all that seriously, but it certainly was a pleasant trip through the universe... As for how far we've come? well, it's quite a miracle that so very many people from diverse backgrounds have all been exposed to the same literature... Isn't that Marvelous? That despite all differences, we meet on some insane level, over a book? And from across the globe no less.

As for your phrase or concept? the opposing state of life, the universe, and everything?

That would be void. You see, the universe is constantly changing, and what we see as decay is generally just a change of state. Death isn't in opposition, it's just a part of the process... So the only true opposing state would be a void. A static, unending nothing in which there is no movement or momentum.

What a dreadful notion.

The whole point Douglas Adams was trying to make is do not take life and its meaning so seriously. Enjoy life, be weird and realize there is just stuff you will never understand. Yeah, go pat yourselves on the back for being masters of the universe, and then remember that your 1700 years is a meaningless blib whain it comes to the universe.

My answer to the last question was love. The strongest human emotion. It is the core of life, the universe & everything positive.

So the opposite to that is apathy. The lack of emotion. A kind of death, nothingness, the void.

The oposing state of Life, is not death, but apathy..for one who does not care is even less effective, and worse than one who is dead.

The opposing state of the Universe is Lack of God ie; lack of creation or nothingness.

The opposing state of Everything is lack of appreciation for anything...the non-existance of grattitude gives humans who have everything the illusion that they have nothing at all.
