I am both actually. Usually it depends on how important that memory is in the first place. During school I may forget when something is due but I have pretty good memory when it comes to remembering facts from the textbook for my test.
It all depends on how well you trained your mind to remember multiple things at once. Also, when you do something in the same routine for so long you tend to forget that you do it at all in the first place. That's why when your routine is changed you think you have bad memory.
That's just what i believe.

In some cases I have a very sharp memory but in some cases like remembering peoples names,I am forgetful.But majority wins for a good memory.You definately are forgetful as you forgot whether you have a good or a bad memory(lol).

I'm a woman which means I'll forget to bring my keys when I go out, I'll forget to turn the stove on when I'm trying to boil water, and I'll forget what I'm suppose to bring to a party. BUT, as a woman, I will remember what you said to me three years ago at 12:15 am EST, I'll remember what you wore on our first date and the slightest thing that you did that you can't even remember doing.

I used to have an excellent memory, but now I tend to forget sometimes, but I am told it is because of meds I am on.

I have a good memory but I keep it a secret. I pretend to be forgetful, it's saved me from several scrapes.

Actually, i have the long term memory if an elephant. i can remember things that most people don't, from years and years ago.
my short term memory, on the other hand, is horrible.
it evens out. i like it how it is, though.

see, when you're below 15 years old, you will have a real good memory and it will decline after that. as you can notice when we're in high school, moreover in college, it will be tough for us to memorize. better understanding - bad memorizing.
but you have to differ being forgetful and careless..hehe
