The best answer is to put the mom in a tank by herself with lots of hiding places for the babies then get her out as soon as she is through having them. Once she's out the babies are totally safe from being eaten.

The adult fish will eat them if they get the chance. To the adults, the little fry don't look any different than brine shrimp or krill or any of those other yummy snacks. Yes, the answer above is right. Lots of plants to hide in or a divider or breeder tank to keep them separate.

Make sure you have lots of vegetation for the babies to hide in, or get one of those divider things
