I know that the Balfour Declaration of 1917 partitioned off the Ottoman Empire and gave certain land for the jews, under conditions. Who can tell me how long the jews had been gone, and what the conditions were? Were these conditions met?

Gone??? we step out for a bagel at the corner store and you say we were gone? oy! I've sat in the doctors office waiting for an appointment longer than that.

In fact, there has been an unbroken Jewish presence in the Holy Land for 2000 years.

If you are asking when the exile took place, that is a different matter, but some Jews remained.
