When i have my xbox 360 out in the open with absolutely nothing blocking air flow and completely ventilated, it still gets pretty hot and blows out hot air. it only takes about 10mins of game play to get it considerably warm.

My friend has a launch date xbox 360 that doesn't get warm at all. even when he leaves it on 24hours, it's barely warm. it has never had any problems ever. i am already on my 2nd xbox 360. my most recent one was manufactured on 10/2006 and it still experiences heating issues.

It is normal for the Xbox to get warm. The Xbox has an internal sensor to control the temperature. If the Power light is Orange, then the Xbox is too hot, and will prevent itself from running until its safe again to turn on.
