I know exactly what you mean. I have felt that too. When in a group discussion, everyone would feel one way and I would feel differently. But this mystified me. Why does everyone else think the same and I think differently? Part of me wanted everyone to think the way I did - sort of as a group affirmation thing.

Time has shown me that I am a free thinker. That I think out of the box so to speak. I am not fettered by traditional thoughts and patterns. And so am free to explore unusual concepts no matter what others think or say.

I have come to value this skill. (I just this minute realized that it is truly a skill.) And am grateful for it. It allows me to soar, to experience, to visualize, to conceptualize. I thank my Higher Power for giving me this gift of being different from many but respecting my differences and respecting those who differ from my thinking.

Celebrate your individuality. You are you and you are unique. There is noone in the world exactly like you. Hooray for that.

All the best.

No ofcourse not! everyone is different ... if everyone was the same it would b boring. it's cool to be different and stand out. if ur made fun of for being different maybe they r just insecure with themselves. A lot of times how u present yourself is how others will react. for example if u act like ur a loser and have a low self confidence most of the time i'd say that others will take advantage of that and might make fun of u. But, if you act and show others ur not afraid to stand and be different out then people will think different about u in a positive way.

NO because everyone is different. It's just a question of what you do, your mind is your own, think what you like, believe what you like, long as you conform to the laws where you live (no cannibalism, they tell me that is "wrong"?) and don't harm anyone else. Unfortunatly, there are a lot of people out there who can't tolerate anything or anyone "different" so you do have to be mindful of that.

Depends how different..... if its like a mental disorder that makes you extremely incompetent during sex and/or speaking then YES THERE IS SOMETHING MEDICALLY WRONG WITH YOU!!! But if its little things that dont really matter then you are FINE!!!

Listen to the voices, are they saying put the knife in the toaster? Or dont put the knife in the toaster? That is how you figure out if you're nuts

(If you have voices then you are nuts!!!)

How boring it would be if we were all the same.

Wasn't there an old Twilight Zone episode about that very subject where everyone by a certain age had to pick from one of 5 to 7 templates to look like?

Again, how boring would that be?

It would depend on the nature of this 'difference'. If you had a penchant for wearing ladies panties or six toes on one foot - that's ok. If you were a pedophile and serial killer... then it's NOT ok.

You're probably not nearly as unique ('special') as you think. Your parents only told you that to bulk up your faltering self-esteem as a child when nobody would choose you to be on their baseball team.
