There are so many, it's hard to choose one. Your local library can give you books about stories that are great to tell aloud. Can you use props? That makes a big difference.

The Three Pigs, Jack and the Beanstalk, Paul Bunyan -- all were oral tales before they were written.

Classic Grimm stories, in their original written version, were much more graphic and, well, grim, before Disney edited them for children. You might surprise your classmates with something as gruesome as their version of Cinderella or a tale like The Juniper Tree.

If you can use props, something like Whose In Rabbit's House is fun. The story of Icarus and Daedalus is simple and compelling.

If you can hold a book, The Gruffalo is great. So is Click, Clack, Moo by Cronin and The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear by Wood.

The best advice is to find something you like and that appeals to YOU.
