that really depends on the material. cottons i would turn inside out, cold water, no dryer. heat from dryers tend to fade blacks. if you have a blend of some kind you probably need not worry, what does the tag recommend?

Don't use hot water or a tumble dryer, they'll cause the colours to run. Hand wash inside out in cold water and a mild detergent.

Avoid washing at all! It always bleeds in to eachother, DRY CLEAN at the cheapo dry cleaner or buy the dry cleaner secret stuff at the grocery store. If you do ever wash something an the colors bleed, there is a cool product called Carbona color remover, it is pretty helpful.
