haversian canals are connected to each other and the periosteum by oblique channels called Volkmann's canals.

Jim was correct. Haversian canals are "tubes" where veins, arteries, lymph vessels , and nerves traverse the bone matrix. page 87 of Basic Histology, Douglas Paulsen.

hi as just the other guys said its simply an HAVERSIAN CANAL which are in turn connected to each other by the VOLKMANN CANALS.
