I still can't decide between Marissa and Mischa. Which name would you prefer and why?

Marissa is a very beautiful name, I wouldn't say it was dated and i dont necessarily know but one marissa. and when i was in school i never had one marissa there and i graduated in 98.
An example of a dated name would be Betty, martha, beverly thats dated!

I like it, I know 2 marissa's, one is about 20, the other is 6.

No, it's a good name. I don't think that it was ever too popular, ever. As far as Marissa vs. Mischa, Marissa for sure.

i've never liked the name marissa, sorry. and yes i do think its dated, many traditional names are timeless, but marissa is just tired and worn out.
the other name you show is cute, but very trendy. why don't you look at something a little more traditional? some of the old names are coming back into vogue and are beautiful names for babies, and the names keep their dignity as the child grows.
i had a friend many years ago who while trying to choose names for your yet unborn son, would go out on the back porch of her house and holler 'steven [or michael, or junior] - dinner' just to see how it sounded. she eventually chose the name david. she just liked the sound of it when she used it.

It may be a little dated, but agree with the people who said you should name your child whatever you want. I recently named my daughter Helen. Although a lot of older names are coming back into fashion, this isn't one of them. But it is a family name so we don't care. Marissa is a fine name, and as long as you like it, go for it!

Marissa is a cute name. That is actually on my list of girl names. It is very cute and girly. You wouldn't happen to like the OC? Just wondering. Go with what you feel but, I feel both names are very cute and you will enjoy them.

I think that Marissa is an absolutely beautiful name! Don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise! Go with your heart. And if some people don't like it, well, **** them! That just means they have jello for brains and they will get used to it and learn to love it as well!

Names aren't dated, they always, eventually, come back into style. I think Marissa is classic. ;)
