I was just wondering, how is data stored in cyberspace. I mean, there's no way that a website such as myspace has the capacity to store half a billion profiles that contain photos and music on its own hard drive. There must be Billions of megabites of info that needs to be stored for the internet to work..So how DO they store all that info?

Servers, that's their job.

See, the World wide web is a hodgepodge of networked computers linked to each other, much more of data and information sharing, like this answers page.

Data is not just stored in a single computer only. Myspace, have their own werver and those server computrs are networked to share data. Imagine running a server of 50 server units with 300GB of storage space.

To think, 1 GB = 1,024 MB | 1MB = 1024 KB | 1KB = 1024B

300GB, that's 300 x 1,024 x 1,024 x 1,024

Ah, that's just it: they don't store it on "a" hard drive.

They store it on MANY hard drives. They often have large arrays of high capacity hard drives, allowing for a huge amount of storage.

where it will have no.of HDD
