Before I ask how to make him fall sleep, I'd like to know why he doesnt fall sleep at night as easy as he does for his naps??
Taking naps is the easiest thing ever.... but at night time he just refuses to sleep.
HE is taking 2 or 3 naps (1 or 2 hours long) during the day.

Thanks a lot!!!
The thing is that when he does fall sleep, he sleeps for 6 to 7 hours, which I think is fantastic...
I just get the feeling that he just doesnt like bed time... and he knows when is bed time for real or when its going to be just a nap

He is only 3 months old so he still needs his 2-3 naps during the day. Do not cut them out. He might be still trying to get his days and nights straight. It takes a while sometimes. You are just going to have to make a nightime routine for him to get used to. If you already have one. Try giving a bottle and rocking him with some soft music playing and keep the lights dim. Try not to make eye contact either! lol Some babys just fight bedtime. I know baths really calm babys down too. Does he nap in his crib? If he doesn't, he may just not like having that big ol' bed to himself yet. Good luck. My son didn't sleep through the night until he was a year old and he always fought bedtime. He doesn't so much anymore though! :)

I notice the poster above mentioned lavender. You may want to google that because researchers are saying that lavender can cause enlarged breasts in boys. No kidding!

See if you cut down his naps....let him take 2 naps of 1/2 hour each day. Keep him active, play with him, keep him happy, feed him before the night.

Know the signs of tiredness

Make the crib comfortable and welcoming him.

Make sure he clean, dry and fed

Create an environment that’s conducive to sleep for your baby
(Remember that your baby spent nine months, give or take, in your womb and listened to your heartbeat. Pure silence isn’t necessary for sleep and your baby will feel comforted by rhythmic, soft sounds in the background as she drifts off to sleep.)

Create a routine.
By trying your best to maintain the night time routine, your baby will come to know what to expect, and by the time you bring out the lavender oil, he’ll know it’s time to lay his head down to sleep.

Limit Daytime Sleep
It is critically important that your newborn does not get too much sleep during the daytime.

Place a Teddy Bear Inside the Baby Crib !
It may be much easier for your baby to get to sleep if you are lying right along side.

Give Your Baby a Bath
A bath can be incredibly soothing and the warmth can help relax them

Rock Your Baby
Cradle your baby in your arms,

Try and keep him awake longer during the days..I know it's hard if your not getting sleep nighttime, or until he changes his schedule..NAP WHEN BABY NAPS. Easy advice that no one takes..or at least I didn't. My son was two before I started napping with him, now he's 2.5 and he's giving up his only nap at least twice a week. Bad when u get used to it and need it. (I work late nights!)

Look for any different pattrns, such as like little lights on at night that wouldn't show up during daytime, maybe activity(the best way to get them to slepp is wear them out). Maybe it is not full enough, or too full when you lay them down.
2 to 3 naps is fine, just space them out evenly.
try a glow worm(it plays sleepy music, and softly lights the bed) maybe the kid is used to the light.
Good luck, I know it is a real tough time, but stick with it! Good luck!

It took my daughter until she was 4 months old to sleep through the night.

I realized that I just needed to give her more naps, on a schedule. And at night, even if she cries, just let her go to sleep in complete darkness.

After she got used to a schedule she now sleeps from 10pm till 9am

it is quite generic. I definitely have a 2 a million/2 365 days previous son and now 4 month previous twins and that they have got all long previous throught this. the 1st month they're satisfied to be swaddled. Then by 2 months, they start to flee their palms and could awaken simply by fact of it. So then I start to swaddle tighter and swaddle with 2 blankets, yet they nonetheless escape and awaken. yet it is in basic terms a piece. After some weeks, they get used to their palms moving and that they sleep only superb with out being swaddled anymore. My twins are 4 months previous now and have been sleepign with unfastened palms considering that approximately 2 a million/2 - 3 months. the 1st few nights would be jerky (they wake themselves up often) yet like I stated, they are going to get used to it.

he may be taking too many naps. with my daughter when she was about that old, i would let her lie down for ONLY a half hour about 2 MAYBE three times a day. Than, I would keep her busy when she was awake with playing with her and so on. and maybe a way to remedy sleep for your lil man, get a lil bit of lavender oil and put just a DAB of it on his chest. it helped my lil girl sleep well when it was bedtime. or drive around the block with him in his carseat. good luck!

most babies in the womb sleep during the day while we are active and then are awake and busy growing while we are fast asleep
he is still wanting to do that its normal

most babys dont and wont sleep through the night until about six months

there are alot of factors to this
such as teething or cholic or just plain hungry

i dont know about your sons teeth but my daughter started teething by 3 months and had her first four teeth by four months old there was alot of up all nights
but rest assure there is help
try teething tablets by humphrys
you can crush it up and put it in his bottle this will help him sleep his gums to be soothed and for at least 5 hours you will get sleep
it will not hurt him its homeopathic
but if you have reservations you can ask your local pharmacist

if its cholic youll know he will not be soothed by any thing and they sleep during the day because they have been passing gas all night or at least trying to pass gas
if thats the case try switching him to a dr.browns baby bottle with a bubble reducer

if hes hungry thats the easiest of all
one scoop of cereal in his bottle mixed with forula or breast milk will fill him right up and knock him right out
hope this helps
