I am 38 weeks pregnant and have had an increase in discharge since yesterday. Did this happen to anyone and if so how long until your labour started?

There is a plug of mucus at the opening of your cervix. When your cervix begins to soften, efface and dilate, you'll notice an increase in discharge. I gave birth last week to my second child and I noticed this increase about one week before I delivered. But some books say you may notice it for a couple of weeks.

Everytime you see lots of discharge, do a song and dance (I know I did!) because it means your body is working like it's supposed to and chances are that your cervix is beginning to dilate before you're noticing any labor pains. That's awesome and means by the time you go to the hospital, you should be well on your way.

Good luck and congrats!!

Yep. Happened to me. About 3 days before my 2nd child was born ( I was induced for the first) I had a pinky brown mucus discharge...that was on the Monday afternoon - no pain or anything with it. My son was born on the Thursday night. Good Luck to you!

This is normal. It's what happens late in pregnancy. NOthing to do with labour, just a normal part of pregnancy.
Relax and try and enjoy your sleep and peace for a couple more nights :)
Good luck and congrats!

All 3 of my infants have been technically born untimely (3 weeks early, 4 weeks early, and 5 weeks early.) there grew to become into no clarification for it. Very healthful being pregnant and healthful infants. i grew to become right into a preemie myself. I consistently felt a sprint nauseous some hours before. Then my water could ruin interior the process the night/early morning.

Yes. discharge is normal in pregnancies. I think it differs from woman to woman. i don't really remember when excactly, but it was around 3-5 months.
