Looks like they're even more hated than Arabs. But it's mostly with the Hispanics who look Amerindian, why?

Lisa, well, yes, I'm First Nation (that's the name for us here in Canada), and many of my friends are Hispanics who look even more Indian than myself but who, for some reason, are ashamed of their Indian heritage.

But all whites I talk to seem to hate them, including white Hispanics. It's kinda sad.

More hated than...Arabs? Nah. The poor Arabs (specifically from Afghanistan, new arrivals and new arrivals are growing) are more hated for some strange reason.

You do need some proper terminology for what you would be in America then: Someones not Hispanic if they're Mexican or Amerindian! So you are not Hispanic. The Spanish are the only ones who would be Hispanic (from Spain)!

I repeat YOU are not Hispanic. You are either Mexican, Latino (a half Mexican & half Hispanic) or a Amerindian, or a Native American.

So I'm guessing YOU are either Mexican or Latino.

SO this Q should be are Mexicans or Latinos the most hated ?

And NO Mexicans or Latinos are not hated either; not by me and not seeming to me by Americans. So many Americans don't hate Mexicans or Latinos & realize they have done ALL the roadwork and fruit picking. Mexicans & Latinos are successful as artisans, fruit harvesters, construction, teaching & nurses mainly I've seen and I don't think they could hurt anything by being in America. I don't think they deserve benefits right from the get go that tax payers paid into their system with the belief in the promise of retirement funding. But aside from that I do not mind them arriving here. I am upset that the USA has not built some nice business for them to have pride in and be happy and paid in the country they were at when businesses are being built in other countries. Build a big business in Mexico=they have a REASON to stay there and both countries could be happier.

As for your Question on: Are the Amerindian in appearance most hated ? No not by me. And not by many Caucasian Americans. I know people who go to craft shows to buy such appearing dolls out of like for the look.

I don't notice any hatred going on?? As long as there is diversity, there will always be some form of prejudice and discrimination. Please, Hispanics are not hated, nor is anybody else. People are scared of those who don't share similar ideas, look the same, different cultures. Dont' forget the Spanish were Imperialists when they arrived to the Americas. Believe it or not, they were no where near as friendly as the English were.

The Spanish did not bring many women (or probably none for that matter), so the slaughtering commenced and of course the breeding. Thus some Hispanics looking more indian than others; but don't forget, nobody is hated you just perceive it that way. Like the Spanish perceived the indians as being stupid; here is an old quote:

"Although these barbarians are not altogether mad, yet they are not far from being so...They are not, or are no longer, capable of governing themselves any more than madmen or even wild beasts and animals...[Their stupidity] is much greater than that of children and madmen in other countries."
(these quotations were, in fact written in early 16th century by Spaniards rationalizing the devastation of the Indian populations in the New World as a just war...John Dower

I live in the metro Phoenix AZ area and we have a real problem with mexican citizens entering the US illegally. Lately they seem to be coming over more and more with guns.

I understand their desire to come to the US for a better life. But it seems to me (and many others), if they are so willing to abandon their own country so blithely, why should we think they have any loyalty to the US either? Most people in the US may not like th ecurrent government or think its a Welfare state or whatever, but sneaking into another country because we dont want to be bothered with trying to change our country through education or protest FIRST?

Im sorry for hate and prejudice; I wish it didnt exist.

I wish parents didn't think it ok to keep passing hate down to their kids, from one generation to the next, like some kind of defective gene.

I wish we could all just look past whether someone has a melanin deficiency or abundance.

But mostly I wish minorities didn't prove out their stereotypes so friggin often. If they move to the US, its supposedly because they think the US wya of life is better than what they left. Why then do they continue to do the stupid stuff they left their own countries to get away from? It's not even an immigrant issue, its a state to state issue too. Ill give you a quick example.

Prescott, Arizona. Although still considered to be in the desert, its mountain elevations giv eyou snow in the winter and very pleasant summers. A very small town, it was touristy in some ways, primitive in others (city sewers were ancient, streets were bad, etc,) but taxes were agreeably low and this appealled to many people who wanted the small town feel with enough services to keep things going smoothly. Mostly lower income retirees and such lived there.

In the late 80s and early 90s, Californians with WAY too much money in an overpriced CA real estate market discovered Prescott, fell in love with its rustic charm and started buying great parcels of relatively cheap acreage. This of course drove the real estate market through the roof, quadrupling prices to the point where ONLY Californians could afford to buy Prescott property. The old homes were demolished and new homes with modern plumbing, PC network wiring, etc were built. Very quicky taxes were raised to pay for all the new infrastructure needed as well as replacing all the obsolete infrastructure already in place.

Today, Prescott known more for its Indian Casino than any history or charm it once might have had. And here in AZ, thats not a perjorative (the word "Indian"). Im from New Hampshire where native Americans preferred being called "O.P."s (Original People), when I moved to AZ in 83, I went out of my way to say Native American, but the Pimas and Tohono O'odham people I worked with just called themselves Indians and told me to do the same.

Probably. There pushy, they flew the Mexican flag over the upside down American flag on May day (which by the way is a communist celebration). They were to stupid to realize that an upside down American flag is a signal to the Military of distress. So anyone ever in the service got ready. They are rude. The illegals make the legal ones look bad thats for sure. Although at our minute men meetings we have some very pi ss ed off LEGAL Mexican Americans that want the Illegals out of here too. Soon Very soon. Wake up America.

Hispanics who look Indian are looked down upon because they're considered not as "advanced" or "civilized" as those who are more rooted in Spanish culture.

I'm not Hispanic, I'm Native American but I have a lot of Hispanic friends. I always ask them why they're not as proud of their indigenous roots as their Spanish/European roots.

Of course, there are many who are proud....not to make generalizations.

Hmm, I don't think that's true. I believe it's a lot harder to be an Arab in America than it is to be Hispanic, which is certainly a terrible truth in itself.

And I don't quite know how you could judge something like that, but I will say that I think that a lot of this anger and bigotry is rooted in some people's day to day existence. Where they begin to hate a particular group or religion because they believe it threatens their own livelihood.

i'm not aware of any of this hatred, who is projecting it?

generally speaking i'd like to know where the impression comes from, the news?

i would say that any illegal alien is hated and shunned at this point, and that seems right to me. It's a form of social protest because the government won't take care of the problem by making it impossible for companies to employ them, sealing the boarders and deporting them when they turn up. It's only natural that the people will respond when the government and authorities have failed us.

They are not hated. I live in az which has alot of illegals and I say make em legal! The only issue I have with illegals is that they can get welfare healthcare federal grants for education etc yet dont pay a cent in taxes which pay for these programs. Once they start to contribute to american life with their taxes I am fine with whatever.
