Get her to take a test. It's the only way that you'll know for sure. Whether she is pregnant or just saying that she is to get the attention.
But, if she is just saying it for attention purposes it is quite possible that she thinks she is pregnant. If one really believes something it can fool the body into believing it as well. For example: Say she had sex then had her period, but when she missed the next one.. it automatically occurs to her that she is pregnant. When in all actuality it could just mean that her cycle was changing or something. But, because she believes that she's pregnant her body starts to develope the signs of pregnancy.
I know a few people that that has happened to. Me included when i was younger. That's how the doctor explained it to though.
Hope it helps and Good luck.

First of all congradulations :)
Actually you are right about thinking she maybe jealous, but also you should give her the benefit. She might be. Some women do know right away. I had a friend that told me she felt pregnant. She had only been with the guy a week and sure enough a month later after I insisted she wasnt....she was and she is due in april with a boy.
Then again, her hormones could be reacting with the thought of it being you and not her. It could go either way. Have her find out for sure and see if she will let you go with her to find out.

Sure you can have a feeling you are pregnant. But if she hasn't had a period since October...it's now February! Why on earth hasn't she had a test since then? She would certainly be starting to show by now. Tell her to call you back with the news and you'll give her the congratulations when she has a positive test and a visit to the dr.

First, congratulations on your own pregnancy.
There are a lot of reasons that a woman could miss this many periods, and not all of them are or are potentially joyous. Buy your sister an HPT kit and help her to use it. Also, make certain, no matter what the result of that test may be, to help her to see her GP, as a starting place.
Don't discount the possibility that her's may be a false or sympathetic pregnancy. Of the possibility that she actually is pregnant. My cousin's two grandchildren (he has two married sons and a married daughter) are from each of his sons and their wives, and the babies were born 4 days apart.

Yes, it is totally possible to "just know". However, in your sister's case, as you've described her it's worth taking the "news" with a grain of salt or a bushel--you choose.
By now, she may (or may not) be showing. Tell her congrats, but she really should go to the doctor for a definite answer (and then pick her OB?)--and when she has THAT appointment and she is told by the doctor that "the rabbit died", you'll throw her a shower.
That should make her put up or shut up, and you can then go on about your business without getting worked up about it at all.

By now she would be starting to show and she would be feeling the baby move. The thing is if she IS PREGNANT she needs to see a doc for prenatal care. Call her and tell her she needs to see a doc, If she lives somewhat near you you might offer to make an appointment with YOUR doc for her. Be real sweet about offering to make the appointment and make it sound like you are going to make the call as soon as you hang up from her. If she is faking being pregnant I am sure she will either stammer a lot making excuses why you can't call or she will come clean one way or the other.

Well her missed period is probably leading her to believe she is pregnant. She may not know that other things can also cause this. Or maybe when you announced your pregnancy she wanted to feel special too and has been trying to get pregnant. Maybe you should buy a test for her to take just to make sure and have her schedule a doc appt. if necessary.

Some women do have a sort of intuition and they just sense that they are pregnant. However, she should have taken a pregnancy test before she started calling people. Intuition or not, in this day and age when pregnancy tests are readily available it sounds ridiculous tell someone that you havent taken a pregnancy test yet but you just know that you are pregnant.

some ppl say yes. but most of the ppl that claim that normally already had kids. there is that chance she is jealous and your getting all that attention. but if she claims she is then why havent she been to a doctor yet? stress can stop a period and you can have your self beliving you are. the only way really is, is by a test. it's been about 4 months for her. you will find out sooner or later when she starts to get bigger, but there is females that eat to make there self look preg. you did say she was a hypocondraic they beleive everything is wrong with them. if someone says something, even if it's a headache, the flu preg. etc. they are the same way. you make make your body beleive that.
