Do MEN really believe that the prettier a woman is the happier they'll be with them? Pick a woman with brains over one with only looks and perhaps you'll meet fewer shallow women.

You should probably define which situations you think these women are being materialistic in, because some men dont like women who expect them to hold down a job, or actually pay for a date. Some men expect a woman to put out just because they sprang for a burger and some fries, and when the woman doesnt put out, suddenly she is high maintenance and the whole nine yards.

some do, just like some guys do. take a look at the girls that you are attracted to. when you first meet someone do you flash your car, home, job etc. because guys who have and show off attract girls who only care about stuff, I like a guy who doesnt need to tell me what kind of car he has. Find a girl who is into 'you' from the beginning before she knows about your money, another thing is if your walking around in designer clothes material girls will notice this and be attracted. Just dress like a guy.

I would wager that the women you become involved with are of a certain 'look'. That 'look', they feel, justifies them receiving 'stuff'. Afterall, in America, the beautiful people inherit the earth...correct?

Shallow people tend to stick to other shallow people. If you don't like the trend...change it. Try looking beyond the hair and make up and body, and I think you might be amazed with what you can find in a woman's head and heart...

Yes, in some way. Why women that are obsessed on material things are attracted to you,? May be you look like a sugar daddy.

If you see a pattern in the women you date, it's not them, it's you. You are choosing them for a reason. Are you choosing them based soley on looks? That cute little skirt they are wearing? Try to look beyond looks, even if she's attractive. See what she has inside early on. And, figure out why you are dating marterialistic women.

Most people think like that. Not just women, but alot of them do too. You'd be best finding yourself a buddhist lass if what your after is detachment from material posessions..

This may be a function of age and/or generation: as you get older you want LESS STUFF. All that stuff needs to be dusted, washed, repaired, moved, packed, stored, etc, etc. Trust me, everyone after 35 - 40 years of age wants RID of the stuff: we just don't have the energy to deal with it any more and become very picky about the stuff we do permit into our lives and homes.

EDIT:
'Edward C' is always full of suprises: today he's wearing his "geneticist" hat: "The female DNA code compels them to always want more.."
