Like.. animism?

No. I really don't.. although when I was little, I thought that cars had souls because it looked like they had "faces". Everthing seems to have life because they exist too, stuffed animals, water bottles, computers, books. They are all made of atoms. But they don't have feelings, thoughts, or a soul. They don't live or die.. they just are.

First, both living an non-living things are made up of atoms; so the argument that non-living things are JUST a bunch of atoms, is nonsense.
We usually assume that what we see as alive is distinct from those things we see as dead matter. But this cannot be completely right.
For if we cannot prove that a stone does not has some sort of life, we cannot say anything definite of what in the world is alive or not alive. In fact it all rests on beliefs, not on knowledge.

In the true definition of life? No i would think not. I would think though however... there is an essence of energy about them that gives off a life-like quality. Take a thunderstorm for example. No life (by its true definition)... but it does have life like qualities. Angry, upset, soothing, powerful. These all contribute to an over all energy flow that living things feel. An interaction of power amongst all things. I guess ... now that i place those options on the table... i can in a way... say that I do 'feel' that non-living things have a possible sence of life to them. But unfortunalty from a literal sence or scientific sense... no.

No. Why? Are you confusing what you feel, like a spirit walking in your living when you are not looking... with the material stuff getting alive, because you cannot admit that that something, a spirit or just a sensation, would be too strong for you?

If you mean the lasting time or utility, usefulness, of an object as life, then they would have a life.

Yep. It seems that there is an awarenss of everything from everything. A wholeness that includes ceramic pots and dead leaves, as well as my family and the dogs we love.

ADDITION:
It wasn't that long ago that we were certain that dogs and any animal other than ourselves had no feelings. It was often concluded that they felt no pain. We also swore in our science books that there was no life not based on photosynthesis. But in the late 70's we were shocked to find that this wasn't so. Now we find that plants and single-cell organisms communicate with real launguage. We may not understand it, but it is real.
Everything on this world is made of the same stuff. Some of us can move around and feel superior to the rocks and ferns, but are we? I don't belive that. I think we have a narrow, species specific outlook. And simply not expressing life that our limited senses can grasp doesn't mean that the life doesn't exist.

We know so little.

Well the evolution theory has to have that in order to separate "life" from "non-life". So since all of existence is a mystery that is segregated between "life" and "non-living" things ; I would say we really don't know.

No I ever felt that non-living things have some sort of life.

non living things can hardly have life now come on. these things were created sometimes from a living thing or whatever but you can hardly say that a glass for example has life

When you stop smoking whatever it is that you're smoking, that feeling will go away and you will realise that non-living things do not have any sort of life

i totally feel so, i am fully in touch of the souls of flowers, plants or anything which is beside me.
i wrote my first poem inspired by a flower, it was planted outside my class and was visible from the window in-front, i looked at it for long it was like making love with it. I felt like it was radiating emotions of happiness or love, it was great.
And from that day i have been able to feel flowers, plants, like they are alive.
