Probably not much because she could say it was by accident and it will be difficult to prove otherwise. Go to your bank and ask them if you can come in monthly and personally pick up your statement. If that isn't an option...can you have the statement sent to another address like a trusted friend or relative? Another alternative would be to get a post office box in your name only. There is a charge, but it's not a lot, and would guarantee she doesn't open your mail

If you are over 18 just ask her not to do it anymore. You can always have them sent to another address or get a postal box. You can also get an account that doesn't have paper statements. You obviously have access to a computer, you can get electronic statements and your step mom would need the user number, which usually isn't the same as your account number and password to see them. The bank may even hold them for you and you can pick them up there. But as long as you are living under her roof, she wouldn't be arrested, it's not a crime.
HOWEVER, you and your step mom obviously have some issues. It might be better to talk to her about them or if you are of age, you can choose to move out, you have to leave home sometime and it's fun to get your first place and start living your own life.
However,

I wouldn't turn her in, as it would be your word against hers without video taping her doing it. Get a post office box. They do not cost that much. I know you feel as if you shouldn't have to resort to doing that because you live there. But, you will no longer have her opening your mail either. When my husband died, our neighber routed my mail to his house claiming he was a business partner. He opened mail that had checks in them, and I could not prove any thing that he had done wrong.

Opening of the mail by your mother is a violation of your privacy and it is punishable by law. The court will determine the penalty in case you file a complaint against her.

Rather than turn her in, why don't you solve the problem by getting a PO box? That way she can't get to your mail before you do. Good luck no matter what you decide.

If you are 18 or older a lot ... jail time I think with some hefty fees. If you aren't and you are a dependant on the account then she has every right to open it if her name is connected to the account information.

Unless she is stealing your money, not much will happen. The court system is seriously overloaded and backlogged. Even though it is illegal that she does this, they're not going to take it seriously.
Listen to the others. Get your own p.o. box if you're concerned.
