A person who only lives on his family's fortune will not be a very effective human being. Boredom will probably lead him to drug and alcohol abuse. He can only hope that his family's fortune is big enough to sustain him through his period of addiction till death.

"trust fund kids" is the term I use and yes, they should WANT to earn on their own to be able to earn the respect of their parents and the woman they want to marry. How can someone who NEVER earned or worked be able to set an example for his children? Yes, there are generation after generation of TFK's that never worked a day in their lives and had children who did the same, but what purpose did their lives fulfill? What good is it to be considered privileged if you do not use your good fortune to help the less fortunate. In the last 5 years, there has become an overwhelming response by actors, actresses, heirs and heiresses to use their resources to help the less fortunate- some in 3rd world countries, others in our own. I can't understand how someone can have any "self worth" if all he has done in his life is withdraw from his piggy bank.

there is actually no difference, but i believe a man should earn his own livelihood no matter how rich his family is, he needs to go out there and make a name for himself

defends on the persons perception of himself, there are some people who can live by just living on inheritance and some people who can't and try to be successful by themselves and there are some people who uses his family fortune to become somebody else and be respectful and successfull! but as one genius have said 'its better to be a man of value than a man of success'.

Neither right or wrong technically, but I will say that you tend to appreciate things you worked for more and it's a much more fulfilling experience.

Every person should make their own way and not rely on what their parents have given them.
