Too much spam gets through to my yahoo email. What can I do?

I use the spam filter on my yahoo account but I still get a lot of spam I have had this address since 2003 and I dont want to change it.

I would like to add to the above that you should NEVER hit the unsubscribe link in a spam email because the link is usually a fake one that tells the spammer that they found a real email and that they should send you a bunch more spam.

I know mine does the same thing. spam filters are working and I click the spam tab. But companies that have been marked as spam still manage to get through the filters.A pain but about the only thing that stops or slows it down is to raise the security level to max.

are you marking each as spam? also hit the unsubscribe link in the e-mail if you continue to get the same spam e-mail yahoo, I've had mine since 2003 and my filter catches almost all the spam.

Earmark it as spam and then delete it. I get hundreds of spam emails a day in my various email accounts and then it all goes to my spam box. All I have to do is delete the spam box with one click. It's no big deal.

The same problem is with me too! But I don't care of it. I just hit the empty files on the right side of the spam folder. that's all!

i had the same problem..and i switched to hotmail, and now i never get spam. The best advice a can give you is to watch out who you give your email to

You need to set your filters, add these words to your filter list, and direct them to go to the trash folder:
mortgage
date
singles
pus (slang for woman's genitals)
free
insurance
penis
rx
prescription

limit the emails tat coming to your inbox to only people in your address book. you will only receive emails from your friends then

you can block the domain, check with yahoo
