Be honorable people. Think before we open our mouths. Give careful consideration to what we are saying before saying it. Thank the military for the thankless job they do. Be proud to be an American. People around the world would trade places with you in a second if they could. People that say they would like to kill President Bush should be thankful they do not live in Iran. If they said that about the Iranian President they would be hung. One more thing it is illegal to threaten the President of the USA. That is worth considerable prison time if caught. He is the President that was voted into office by the American people. He was not forced on anyone. He is the Commander-in-Chief of this country. It is so sad to see such disrespect.

The most patriotic thing to do is to speak up for what you think is right while at the same time respecting opinions that differ from yours. Our country is based on everyone's opinion being of value. We undermine that principle by name calling, degrading, or even worse.... those whose opinions differ from our own.

It is really challenging. I consider myself patriotic but I also believe justice for everyone means sometimes we have to be self-critical. I think with all the Iraqi's killed and our thinking that the whole war would be a "slam dunk" is horrible. I also feel we owe the Iraqi people for practically destroying their country and will need to be there for a while to help set things right, but no doubt we will and have paid in blood

Exactly what our founding fathers did--question authority, and demand equal representation. We don't live in a monarchy, so our leaders (and the people who accuse us of being unpatriotic for questioning our leaders) would do well to remember that.
