my grandfather passed recently and when i was a kid we were close spent many summers together and took many road trips. as i got older my parents split and my relationship with him and my grandma diminished. he had been sick for along time and finally passed away peacefully at his home. he had suffered a stroke and passed shortly afterwards. i went and saw him in the hospital before he was taken home and he was aware as to who i was but was upset because he couldnt remember my name. i had brought my youngest child his newest grandbaby to see him. he was so happy to see her and just wanted to touch her. which was not like him at all he was a very stubborn not affectionate man. i have been having alot of dreams about him just standing there. he doesnt say anything and he just stares at me. anyone know what it could mean. thanks

When your grandfather had a stroke he had a hard time putting facts together, as his brain was attacked. So not remembering your name is pretty common, you really should concern yourself with that. Once a person has a stroke their whole personality can change, this is also very common. My grandfather became very beligerant and mean, and some others become very weepy and personal.
Your dreams could be different things, it could be your subconscious is uneasy about the events leading to his passing. It could be just that you miss him, and are literally keeping him in your dreams. Or you could take the "religious" approach, and some religions believe your loved ones visit you in your dreams as a way of checking in on you and letting you know they are still there.

Well, i can tell you why his behavior changed, and his memory failed - brain damage often has those sorts of effects, and brain damage can happen when you have a stroke.

As to what your dream means, i cannot say. Your dreams are a reflection of what's going on in your head. They may or may not mean anything. Sometimes it may be somethig that's worrying you, or that you're thinking about a lot. Other times it may just be something that your brain made up.

The only way to find out what it means is to ask yourself. No one else can really tell you, because no one knows your thoughts better than you.

You think about him a lot when you are awake. Also, you miss him. You feel a loss & you are confused about his behavior with the baby.
