with medical and university research equipment, do you think it is possible to create an artificial pimple for testing purposes? (not on a human body.. perhaps fake skin? or some gigantic structure that resembles a gigantic pimple?)
if not then do you think its possible to grow pimple bacteria on agar plates?

well creating a pimple might be going too far, what about fake skin?
if fake skin is developed then cosmetic researchers wouldn't have to test their chemicals on innocent animals!
but is there an alternative to using stem cells to create fake skin?

A pimple isn't just a bit of pus, it is a failure of the skin that has pores with sweat glands. It's a complex matter. To recreate a true pimple for research purposes, the skin has to be replicated, pores and sweat glands and all. Once you have such a laboratory skin, it's not difficult to induce a pimple for analysis. Now, laboratories can probably procure lilve human skin as a byproduct of cosmetic surgeries, for example, or human skin can be cloned or grown from stem cells. It's not impossible at all, and very likely to happen in the future, since considerable effort is already underway on developing techniques of growing normal human skin for grafting purposes.

And to add to the previous answers question- you also have to worry about having an inflammatory system in the artificial skin. Ex-vivo explants could be used, but that kinda defeats the purpose of "no animal testing". Regardless, despite what cosmetics companies marketing departments claim, products MUST be tested on animals by law.

stemcells dont make fake skin its real tissue if it comes from stem cells. most skin used in garfting for burns and things is cadaver skin that has had the dna removed so a body wont reject it making skin with stem cells would be a waste of material that could be better used to make whole ogins we cant replace by other means.

What would be the point? Pimples are not that big of a deal haha. You grow out of them you do not grow out of aids or cancer.

The real question is: why would anyone want to? I think that there are other issues for researchers to focus on. I realize that having acne is embarrassing and difficult for a teen, but it is not a life-threatening condition....last I heard, no one had died of embarrassment (thanks, mom, for that great line). Anyway, I think that there are many other ways to spend our money and time!
