chocolate is a huge culprit also---sorry ladies. It's can cause the child to have horrible gas and spit up all over. I had to switch to white chocolate if I was having a major chocolate attack. Also, watch the amount of caffeine you intake, this will transfer right through and can cause a whole bunch of problems.

Biggest culprits are:
Corn, Wheat, milk, nuts

ZERO!! None. Sometimes a baby will have a reaction to proteins in breastmilk that come from something mom is eating. My son couldn't handle milk products. As long as I didn't eat them or ate very little dairy, he was fine. When I ate a lot, he would spit up more and have diarrhea. The only way to tell if the baby has an issue with a food is to take it out of your diet for 2 weeks. Some babies have bowel problems b/c their mother has an over abundant milk supply and they get too much foremilk. There can be several different reasons for a digestion problem, but breastmilk is usually the best thing for a baby, especially a baby with a digestion issue. About one in 50 babies are allergic to cow's milk, through breastmilk.

Zero! Babies only react negatively to breastmilk if the mom ate or drank something that affects the baby. Usually milk is a culprit. You can try to take it out of your diet for a week and see if the baby is better after that. Foods like broccoli and onions also affect babies. Breastfeeding.com is a great site.

None. You can't be allergic to your mothers milk. You can however be allergic to what she's eating/drinking. \

For instance, if a baby is lactose intolerant then the mother would need to cut all food and beverages with lactose (or dairy) out of her diet. But a child cannot physically be allergic to its mothers milk.

0% It is not really possible for your baby to be allergic to your breastmilk. Sometime, however, babies can be sensitive to proteins in the mother's milk from foods she has ingested. There have been some reports of bloody stools in infants who are sensitive to food in their mom's diet. The most common offender is cow's milk protein

0. Babies aren't allergic to breast milk, but they can be allergic to what you are eating. I had to cut out all milk products, including cheese and ice cream!

Also stay away from spicey foods

I believe it's 1-2%, although more then that may APPEAR to be allergic to breastmilk, but are in fact allergic to something the mother is eating that is being passed into the breastmilk.
