My left side mastecomy will be performed in 4 days and I wanted to see if anyone knows what type of outfits would be comfortable to wear while healing with the drainage device. casual work outfit ideas would be highly appreciated as well.

anything loose and blousey.Avoid anything tight around the midriff or arms.cotton things are good.You should be wearing compression stockinets an both arms from wrist to shoulder to keep edema down.you wont be working for a while especially with drains in.The surgery takes alot out of you.Your armis going to be weak and soreYou will need to be fitted for a prosthetic bra soon too.

Ask your local cancer society for a list of stores that carry mastectomy apparel. Actually, your cancer society will be helpful for more than that if you want them to be. My mom used to volunteer for a program called Reach to Recovery, where she would go visit a woman who was going in for a mastectomy and kind of mentor her through the process.

loose fitting tops that you could button or with a zipper in it. I am sorry to hear about this and I will pray for you that everything will be allright.

Relaxed loose fitting clothes. I have only had a breast biospy but my heart is with you.
