i.d is "intelligent design"; it is creationism in scientific speak. Look at us and say must be an intelligent designer.

fits the data? Yeah, I guess, although we have to be doing alot of extropolation given the short time in the scheme of things we've existed, ... Mabye the big bang thing resides on a silly assumption we can't see yet.

It is just one theory about the beginning of the universe (and the most popular).

However, scientists are uncertain at this point as all physical laws break down as we approach time zero and mathematics yields redundant answers.

There are other theories that could be just as plausible though. If you're interested try a google search. There have been volumes written about quantum physics, and the universe really is stranger than we can imagine.

It certainly seemed so when I first heard it, and it still impresses me as being a bit bizarre. But it fits the data, and when you do science, you use the theory that fits the data, no matter how goofy the theory seems. Consider quantum mechanics, for example, which is about as goofy as it gets. (It also works like a charm.)

It seems to allow a lot of room for an intelligent being to have intitiated it. To say that it spontaneously began seems to go against all laws of physics I have ever been taught.

About the theory of the “Big Bang” is written the thick (very thick) books.
But anywhere do not write about the reason of the “Big Bang”.
Anybody does not know it.
I know.
Action, when the God opens his palm,
have named the “Big Bang”.
And action, when the God compresses his palm,
have named " a single point”.
