I use a hardwood dowel I bought at Home depot to pry them out so you don't damage the bearing. I pry one side out then tap the other bearing out with a little bit bigger wooden dowel, then when I put them back in I tap them in with the bigger dowel. If you try to pry or tap a bearing with anything metal you can easily ruin your bearings. Take it from me, I've been screwing around with skateboard bearings since 1979.

take a phillips head screwdriver and insert it into your wheel (where your axle was) and pry up...it will pop out and insert the old bearings into your new wheel.
