I heard and I think I read somewhere that large women especially with big bust and chest shld steer clear fm tops that have horizontal stripes ... Coz the stripes would make the body and chest look larger ..

Any fashion guru out there say it's true?

And what patterns would look great on large women with big bust?

If you are trying to slim down a large bust or short torso, try wearing blazers and jackets that fall past your waist and in solid colors (they don't have to be dark). Big patterns make you look bigger, smaller prints do not have this effect so don't be afraid to buy things that have a small, non-chaotic print but stay away from large floral or horizontal stripes. Also, try boatneck cut tops to give your shoulders a larger appearance and downplay the bust. Good luck shopping!

Vertical stripes, in general, are good. Thin, clean lines are really good, and sometimes having a broken pattern (instead of just lines in a row, like vertical prison stripes) is a good way to go. Try to avoid patters with big prints, like large flowers, or words/pictures that are right across the bust. That REALLY doesn't help, since it draws attention there.

I am not a fashion guru but I kno from seeing this faux pas happen on too many levels to say that, Yes. Larger women should stay away from some horizontal stripes, they are not flattering to any shape and causes more attention to curves than most realize. And by some I mean, bright horizontal stripes. Darker are fine but mainly....no horizontal stripes.

If you're into stripes go with vertical ones. They make your waist appear longer. As for other patters I don't know. I say if you like it try is on and see! I have a big bust too, and I have such a hard time finding tops that fit my bust and my waist in the same size. Grr!

stay with solid colors. dark colors make you look thinner, while lighter colors does the opposite.

also try not to get anything super tight, or has ruffles, frills and etc. around the chest area. it will only enchance it's size.
