Is it true that a donkey will sink in quicksand but a mule will not?

it's actually a trick question. People usually say that not because once in the quicksand the donkey will sink and the mule won't.. it's more because of their behavior. People say that cause mules are way too stubborn and they would never do something they felt was dangerous cause they trust their instincts. Also, a mule moves faster and has better traction than a horse.. which could help it get out faster.
But anyways there's no reason at all why one would sink and the other one wouldn't.
